I GOT 5 ON IT

Somehow when I turned 30, the amount of beauty products I used got a little more complicated. I learned some things about myself: my skin is oily, there is no excuse for puffy eyes (even if you had the great night to show for it), and the way you smell can turn a date into a great night. Women have it easier in that they have more options, but with guys you have to look a little harder to see what out there is really worthwhile.

Here’s a peek into 5 products I’ve recently become obsessed with and now keep in my regular grooming rotation…

1. Vaseline Spray & Go Moisturizer

As hotter weather comes along, you’ll want to make it easy to keep your skin healthy and moisturized. I’m generally impatient when it comes to this. There is never enough patience or time to wait in the day to slather on lotion and wait for it to dry. Problem solved: spray moisturizer. I’ve tried a few of the ones out there (like St. Ive’s), but Vaseline makes the best one.

The smell of their lotion isn’t so intense (that it could mess with your cologne) and their bottle is made well so that you can throw it in your bag to the beach or the gym and not worry about it leaking or breaking. It’s easily available at any drug store or supermarket, but you can also grab it here via Amazon.

2. Kiehl’s Oil Eliminator Deep Cleansing Exfoliating Face Wash For Men

Kiehl’s is slowly becoming my go-to brand so that I can explore some great products that are formulated for men. My oily skin becomes as bad as an Exxon spill in the summer, but this face wash helps keep that under control. There’s crushed apricot seeds in there that gently exfoliates your skin. It’s amazing to be able to use this and feel my skin breathing. Grab it directly from Kiehl’s here.

Pro-tip: If your skin gets sensitive from the exfoliation, try alternating it with Cetaphil. I’ll use this in the morning and Cetaphil and night sometimes.

3. Eyes by ToGoSpa

I look probably very crazy in that photo above. But, Eyes are under-eye treatments designed to reduce puffiness and moisturize. I’ve used these at home, but I’ve also used these in places like Los Angeles and Las Vegas (when I’m out to have a good time). They’ve saved my face from telling last night’s secrets many times and are also just perfect to have if you need to relax. EYES by ToGoSpa comes in 3 different kinds: ice water, green tea and coconut. Grab EYES by ToGoSpa via their website.

4. L’Homme by Yves-Saint Laurent

I was lucky enough to receive this as a gift and it’s one of those most sexiest and intoxicating scents I’ve smelled in awhile. It’s fresh but still woody with notes bergamot, ginger, and vetiver. A few sprays and spritzes of L’Homme on my naughty and sweet spots and it’s lasted and still smelled delicious all throughout the day. In case, your a little on the fence about committing to a new scent, you can find a variety of bottle sizes at Sephora.

5. Tea Tree Water

I have always loved tea tree for it being so versatile. The geniuses at Lush have taken tea tree, juniper berry, and grapefruit waters to create this! After feeling like my skin was tired in Las Vegas, I had picked this up and have been a fan ever since. It’s great for waking up tired skin, reduces redness, and helps fight excess oil. Comes in two sizes (do yourself a favor and pick up the bigger one) and is available at the Lush website.
